Hi,
There are quite a few people who successfully get a good amount of their traffic by posting comments in related blogs! I don’t mean comments like "viagra ....." I mean related, clean comments.

Actually, I recently posted a comment in a famous blog and I am getting a good steady stream of relevant traffic from the blog. And since the comment was not just spam, the traffic is targeted and interested in the content on my site! But, since this worked out, I tried to replicate it with other blogs.....but that did not work!

Since many ppl are pretty good with this, I was hoping that they could share the tricks of the trade..

You know: How to find the posts that are related? What kind of comments work? Where to find the blogs etc.? Some random tips?

Anyone?

Would be really cool if someone could share their secrets!

Thanks!

laertes

Okay- here's one. Check out Digg's upcoming stories and look for the typical kind of posts that make it to the front page- you know, Top Ten Firefox Extensions for Mac that cause Global Warming. Be the first to post a reasonable comment with a linkback to your reasonably on-topic site.

Stirring up controversy also works.

I will be addressing this specifically in my presentation at PubCon. [pubcon.com...]

I just realized that the mods here (MB and Sugarrae) are both presenting on a different panel at the same time :(

[pubcon.com...]

So, bring two people, and each one of you sit in one session. That way you get all the good info.

well, I am a poor little publisher from India, and i will not be able to make it to pubcon, so if anyone catches the presentation, do post what you learn. In the mean while, anyone got anything to share right-here-right-now?....
