One way links for sale

Worth anything?

We have been offered one-way links totalling 1100 of which 4oo are PR4. All are unrelated to our site but in articles which are 'texturally' relevant. The cost for this is £100 per month.
Excuse my ignorance but will Google recognise any of these links? Should we bother? What harm could this do us? (other than to the bank balance). Thanks for your opinions

1100 links from one domain to another, all appearing overnight?

If you were a Search Engine, wouldn't you have a little application running to detect those kind of radar blips?

I know I would.

Having said that, for £100, if you can monetise the traffic it would produce (and ignoring the SE element), it could be a good deal.

They say all different domains. I don't think the traffic will be great in itself due to unrelated sites

Link sellers are just link sellers, not publishers.

If they win some money with 10 links in each page, they will double their income with 20 links (and triple with 30 links an so on) and your link will be there between the 30 obviously paid links and the 30 natural links of the page.

Walk away.

Either
1. You'll get banned. There is simply not enough control
2. The sites may be PR4 but I bet you the pages are PR0 with 100 links per page
Can you just by 40 links for £10.00 and increase month by month.

If you research the history of the company that is offering this service - you will find that integrity is not their strongest point.

The parent company name refers to the temperature difference between being indoors or outdoors.

trillianjedi,
sometimes I wonder what will google do if a blog links a site...sandbox, or do blogs have special powers ;)?
