Text Link Ads

Not sure if this is the correct area to ask this, but does anyone use Text Link Ads in the UK.

If so are they good for the UK market?

Secondly, their claim that paying for the link helps your link popularity, is that true?

I've seen some text link ad services out there that are run by Java scripts. I'm not sure if google can follow that, and if they can, do they really count it as a link?

I don't have any numbers to back it up, but my gut says that it won't help the serps any.

Keep in mind that driving traffic and moving in the serps should be treated seperatly. Maybe if those java ads are run on a few sites that get a ton of visitors a day... then you very well might gain some good traffic.

On the other hand, if you get little or no traffic, plus no gain in the serps because of the java issue, then you've waisted your money.

I have installed text-link-ads recently and it looks like it's just php code so in that case it should be ok. Just sign up for an account and check the code they give you or check other sites that have links up and see if they are in proper form. I doubt they would be javascript since they are supposed to be seo friendly and these guys have a good reputation.

They are not javascript based... clean html links.

I bought ads through TextLinkAds.
I can't comment on the UK but for me It was a way of getting hyperlinked keywords to my site from higher PR sites. They did not deliver any traffic direct (through the link) but they did get recognised by Google as linking to me.

There was no change to my PR though. it stayed at PR4.

It is a quick way to get indexed by the search engines.
It is a guaraneed way to get higfher ranking sites linking to you.

How many links you need or what the results will be are unpredictable.

From my side, i think Text Link Ads are overpriced most of the time. Their plus point is that their biz network are wide and you can get links from very reputable websites.

I read once on a personal blog reviewing some of the link merchants... the author actually got some insights and does not recommend buying from text link ads.

I've used TLA adds for a number of sites and have received very positive results from them. As always, you can save a little if you look through for the hidden gems, but they are there.

Also, if you have not used them before, they generally give you $100 worth of free links the first month. Make sure you use all of this, but you may want to backdown from there near the end of your 30 days if you do not want to spend that much, as they automatically renew if still active at the end of the month.
