Finding backlinks from edu or gov sites

Is there an easy way to do it?

I can use the link: command to find reported links to a site in Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

However, when I add in site:*.edu it doesn't work.

Is there a way to just pull the links from a given TLD or other criteria?

Knock out the asterisk, it isn't needed. On Yahoo:

linkdomain:example.com site:.edu
