I see websites that claim that they have 6k members exchanging links automatically. What do you guys think of these?

I think it's a recipe for disaster. It's a very large link-farm. The links will either be discounted, or cause penalties eventually. I wonder if the company doing the advertising is actually hooked into the links, or is just subjecting the clients to it.

Bad, bad idea.
The word 'quick' should not be part of any conversation related to seo.
