Hi all!

I'm new here and I have some questions regarding link-buying.

I have made a few niche sites and I've heard that it would be a good way to get traffic form them if I build a "portal" site (which has a exclusive IP of course) and then place links on that "portal" site to my different niche sites. That way I only have to buy one high quality link for the "portal" site :-)

Please correct me if I'm wrong ...

And here are my questions:

1.) Where is the best place to buy links?
2.) Which kind of website should I buy links from?
3.) How long does it take until my "portal" site have a good PR?
4.) If I buy / rent a link on a PR9 site ... will my portal site automatically get a PR8 rank after the next Google PR-Update?

I'm looking forward to your help, your ideas, your tips ... Thank you!

One quality link to a site is not going to make it a "powerhouse" when linking back to your smaller niche sites. If it were that easy (build niche sites, create a portal, get it one link, give your niche sites a link back, rank on all terms) no one would be posting here and instead we'd all be on a permanent vacation. ;)

Sure, it is a method, and many people use a portal to drive traffic to smaller niche sites, but it isn't as simplistic as you may think.

As for your questions...

1. We can't give out specific sites here.
2. One related to your topic that will send you traffic.
3 and 4 I'll leave to others because I think toolbar PR is a laugh at best.

Hello, I thought I would give 3 a shot for you... at least this is my opinion on things. 4 is questionable.

3)Short answer: Who knows?

Long asnwer: It depends on what kind of PR you are looking for. To get a PR6 or higher (in my opinion) will require alot of work, and a little bit of luck with a decent quality web site. Here you are getting into the more advanced areas of link building. The next PR update will probably come in Late October/Early November so if you buy some good campaigns, and get a couple dozen decent related link exchanges, you can probably get a PR2-4 for then. Anything above that I would set long term goals for the PR update that will follow that, which wont be for a good 3-5 months if I had to guess.

The reason why 4 is questionable is because 1) Just recently is the first time I have had anything higher than a PR6 pointing to any of my web sites and so I have not witnessed the effects of the PR yet... and also I would assume if it was as easy as to spend a bit of money at once, to make long term income in advertisements in the future more people would have figured this out by now. Say you spend 500 bucks on a PR8 link for 2 months around the next PR update, to get a PR7 web site. A PR7 web site could then probably sell 15 text link ads at about 50 bucks/month which would make a total of $750/month revenue from that one small investment. I don't know... again I still really do believe if it seems to easy or is too good to be true, it probably is. Anyways thats my rant for now, hope it helps. Dont let that discourage you though... buy the odd campaign on a decent ranking related web site, spend some time building related links, and spend some time working on good web site content/a useful service and im sure hard work will pay off.
