What's the most you've paid for a text link?

Hello,

As I'm sure many of you are aware, the text link industry is in a rapid state of growth. This suggests that there is a high demand for purchased text links.

What is the most that you have spent on a text link ad and what criteria convinced you to justify the cost?

$50/month for a link in a PR8 (now PR7) site with only 2 outgoing links and <15 inbound links. (in last December)

Since the link is added, many our target keywords moved up very little for the first three months (but moved up a lot the next month.) During that period, little or no links are added.

im looking for some more text-link places - i tried adbrite but the inventory seems like its pretty lame atm - anyone know of any good text-link brokers that have decent prices - and you can preview the site first?
