increase in sites doing 3 way linking, is this worth doing?

Ok so today i got email back from someone i had contacted for a link exchange.. they said we do 3 way links now..

he then led me to a page with a diagram and explaing how it works..

He said normally its like thsi

Your site A you want to link to my site B and ahve me link back..

but.. google can look at that as articifical and it also doesnt do much good so.. he said what we do is this

your site call it A is financial you link to my financial site B and then what I will do is link back to your financial site A with my financial site C

You have gained a nice incoming link from a relevant source that you havent had to link back to too.. and I have gained one too.. keeping the engines happy..

I thought this was excellent idea.. Only problem i can forsee is that i link my nice page rank 6 site to his B site. and he links back to me with a zero page rank site.. that would do me no good.. or he places me on a page with too many outgoing links.

whats your thoughts on 3 way link exchanges?

You're in the position to turn the tables. If you have something of value, use it to your advantage.

You have the better PR, you should ask for more. I ask these people with weak pages to link to several of my websites if they want a link from a "good" page. I also ask them for links from a better website (if the originating site looks really bad).

I came up with an idea much better than this. For instance;

3 times 3

example?

- You have 3 teams
- each team has 3 sites
- in each team you have A, B, C
- "A" links to "B" to "C" to "A"
- then all of team 1 links to all of team 2 etc etc

Sounds cool huh? Problem nobody trusts anybody else. That is why I have a link exchange directory managing service, lol!
