How do you track outbound links without harming the impact?

If I sell blue widgets and you sell red widgets and I want to link to you, I have two choices that I'm aware of.

Option A
Link to you directly with [yoursite.com...]

Option B
Link to you will some form of tracking script that will look like, [mysite.com...]

It is my understanding that Option A is more attractive to the owner of yoursite.com but the owner of mysite.com will have no way of knowing how many people clicking on that link.

Option B gives mysite.com the ability to track the clicks but is less desireable to yoursite.com.

We are able to start some serious link campaign reform for our site and want to go with Option A because that's what we want people to do for us, however, we also want to know how much traffic we are sending.

Is this an either or?

how about put a link to an internal page and use a 301 redirect to redirect to the partners page and log those pages, the link effect should be the same
