our products are listed in the "3rd party solutions" catalogues of two REALLY big players, whose company names carry a lot of credibility. The problem is: these 3rd-party catalogues are dynamic pages with URL's along the lines of
bigcompany.com/solutioncatalogue/solutionskript.asp?company=xyz&solution=123. The main page of these catalogues is PR6 resp. PR7, but you can't browse them page by page - you need to select categories from a listbox. In short: no spider will ever see these pages.
Even though - as a consequence - the individual solution pages have a PR0, I would hope that the link coming from a REALLY big player will help to boost my site. (Maybe I'm already wrong here)
So I'm looking for a way to make the spiders aware of my solution entries in these catalogues.
What would happen if I submit the individual URL's myself? Good idea? Bad idea? And if bad, why?
Any comments?
Weeeelll, shame on me, but I actually DIDN'T check before. They were nowhere to be found on my backlinks, so I assumed they are not indexed. I did a "site:..." search in Google just now, and surprinsingly one of them IS indexed, but in a very incomplete and sometimes strange manner (no description text showing). Only a very few single solutions (and among these even one of mine) are indexed. But if I type in a keyword from these, it's not always shown in the SERPS. I also had the impression that - judging from the results, Goglebot must have tried to actually use the dropdown-list forms...
The other catalogue is only indexed with its static pages, so I went ahead and submitted the deep link for my solution there.
