Outsourcing links - how much to pay

What's a fair price per reciprocal link

If we outsource link building, specify some basic criteria like minimum PR of 4, sites dealing with topics X or Y, linkpage to be no more than one click away from homepage etc. what would be a fair figure to pay someone per actual reciprocal link achieved?

If anyone has already done this and has some ball park figures, these would be most useful to me. Thanks in advance.

"I don't see why a person can't do this themselves."

Well, if you have one or a few sites, I would think it to be silly as well. Many of us here own multiple sites in the double digits, some in the triple digits, bet even some in the thousands. I am a damn good link getter... but lately, I haven't had the time. The problem now is finding someone who can do it almost as well as I can, that isn't already in the industry looking for their own link hunters LOL.

Dougedoug and Nakul, if you can still edit these posts, I'd say they belong in "Commercial Exchange" rather than the Link Development forum. I'm not even sure if an offer to buy links is OK in there... check the charter.

In these forums, it may be OK to discuss generalities like outsourcing costs, but it's not OK to offer or solicit services.

Yes we get it done in India:

5$ a link to PR5
10 for a 6
and I would give left testicle for anything above a 7.

It is such a valuable part of seo. We are paying 100 USD a day on pay per click for some new sites we have. We are doing ok, not bad business. But I know from experience that I have to build my site in 18 languages and do SEO to be the daddy and crush the competition b:PPPP

I paid a guy in India $649 for 40 one way links. I have not seen any fruits of it yet but I don't expect to for a few weeks. I had to pay with Pay Pal up front. I hope I don't get screwed. I kinda jumped into it. I guess I will just have to wait and see. I have spoken with the person several times and made it clear that I would buy more if this works out.

Ogletree, what was the quality of these links? I.e., were these links from sites you might have solicited yourself if you had time, were they cheesy quasi-directory sites (near-FFA), or did they seem to be sites controlled by the link provider?

Like I said I have not seen any results yet. I am sure I could do it myself I just don't have time. I have so much work all I do now is manage stuff I have outsourced.

I am just in the process of outsourcing link building. I have separate arrangements with 2 different sources, one I am paying per email sent and the other per link. I will see which works out the best. To early to tell yet.

Be sure to let us know how things work out, doc. I'd expect the "e-mail sent" approach to yield higher quality relevant links. How well the "per link" approach works depends on the ethics of the contractor.
