create input box in ps 7

Well I have a need to create an input box in ps for a mock up of a webpage. I looked for something in ps that would do it, but have had no luck. Any ideas?

You could always just get one from a print screen and crop it. If you need it stretched, just copy half onto a second layer and move it left or right.

..Or did I miss the point of the question?

Well originally that's what I was going to do, but I really want to learn photoshop, so I thought I would see if I could make one from scratch. I know it's possible, but I just don't know where to start. I guess I'll go ahead and just grab one off a site.

Ah! Photoshop's not so hot for working with simple shapes like that. But if you're doing it as a learning exercise, it might be fun to see how close you can come with a white box and Blending Options for that layer. I tried it, and came pretty close with Bevel & Emboss, save for the rounded corners..

LOL! Well I was close I suppose... I had the left and top inner shadow going, but getting the rest and making it look like an input box... not enough system resources here!

white rectangle with these layer styles :

stroke > 2px > outside > color: light grey or your system color for inputs.
bevel and emboss > stroke emboss > direction 'down' > technique 'chisel hard' > depth 200 > size 20px.

its pretty close (to an i.e. 6 input but other browsers render them differently):)
