i can't seem to figure out how to make a rectangular image appear to have torn, ripped, or burned edges. i am going for an antiqued look for the picture but the edges look too clean.
any tips or techniques?

thank you,

Download some new 'raggedy looking' brushes for photoshop... Fill in a layer with the main color for your 'paper', then use a few different raggedy brushes as erasers to create an uneven edge. You can then use soft edged brushes to 'paint' around the edge with various shades of brown and black to create the burnt look.

Then again, you could just burn the edges of a piece of paper, and scan it in... hehehe.
