Small good looking Fonts

Does anyone know where I can get a good looking small font 8pt and lower for my website.

The site is a pro site so nothing like Comic Sans - All the fonts I'm finding break up when you go too small with them.

Tried it recently and got hit by a barage of emails saying that the site was unreadable :0

Not sure how many ppl know that they can adjust fonts/screen size.

The problem with to using standard fonts is that the browser will replace them. Therefore, you are very limited. Verdana and Arial can go down to 8pt and 7pt respectivly, however, as richard said be prepared for those emails.

Cheers guys Verdana seems to hit the spot, I started with Arial but I think it looks too standard if that makes sense.

Any others?

For Windows clients, "trebuchet MS" looks good at 8pt.

If you're looking for something completely different, do a search for "pixel fonts" on google or such. There are fonts available you have to pay a small amount for, but they do look good even at 7px size.

Are you looking at font for a graph or for the text/content?

If for graph you could use SilkScreen.
If for graph with Fireworks I use verdana 10 px no anti-alias

If for text/content font - can't help you sorry ;)

I remember that Macs used to mangle small point fonts. Not sure if that still happens, so you may want to do some q/a

The Font is for the Main Text on the site.

Just to mention woody

To ensure that the font displays in all browsers/platforms you might have to save the text as a gif - as far a I understand a browser will display the default font unless the font is installed on the system.
