A client has sent me a MS Publisher file for some content. I am unable to open it as I do not own that program.

I have about every graphics program you could think of and none seem willing to cooperate with this format.

Anyone know a way to access the contents of the .pub format?

Have them "Save As" RTF or some other file type from Publisher and resend.

Hi Jon, I am not aware of any Publisher viewer. If you want the layout intact, I suggest you take a look at PDF995. Its a freeware PDF printer driver. Have that installed on the client's computer. Have them send the PDF to you instead of the Publisher file.

The RTF format worked well enough... the 'design' was lost but the text was exported. Just seems strange that there is no export for postscript.... I mean it IS a graphics program. Oh well, hope I don't encounter too many of these files in the future.

Thanks!

If you want export as "PostScript" all you need to do is select an Apple LaserWriter and "print to file". The output will be a PostScript (.ps) file.

I completely forgot about that one... I'm not sure my client could have pulled that one off but a good reminder none the less. Thanks
