Site appears tiny on some browsers

Flash MX designs appear in top 1/4 of screen only

Our Flash MX designs are showing in the top 1/4 quadrant of some browsers. So, the site looks tiny on their monitor. This doesn't happen for everyone - just a few. I've asked our client to download the latest version of Exploerer. This didn't fix it. He also has the latest Flash player.

I'm assuming its in the end-user's browser settings. It's happened a couple times. So, I'd like to offer a solution when it comes up.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, could you shed some light on this fix?

Not possible!

It sounds like a coding error. Are you linking directly to a .swf or embedding the .swf?

Check your movie size in the fla.

What is the size of the movie? E.g 760px * 640px

When you export it try >publish setting >html>dimensions...

Then set as a percentage for height and width.

sorry, directly linking to the .swf. We understand sizing the window. But, this happens to be fine on most every screen. Just maybe 1% of the people see the movie in the top 1/4 of the browser window with the rest of the browser window white. Its not the window size - the browser window is full. But the actual site graphic is in the top 1/4 corner only - not on the whole browser screen.

Then embed the swf. That will cure your probs. To give you a more specific answer I'd need the browser type, version...

Awesome! Thanks. We'll give this a try. I know the one instance is Explorer with Windows XP.

It's always better to embed the .swf - in some browsers directly linking can throw up nasty looking error alerts.
