Hi!

I've got a jpg graphic on my homepage that consist of layers of an image, then some text on the layer above.

I used photoshop to compress it down to 60%, and it looks fine on my monitor. Then when I checked it in the lab on an older PC & monitor, it looked fuzzy --especially around the text.

I did not know that image quality was different on different monitors! Now I'm paranoid. What causes this? Is it just the graphics card?

No it'S the colour rendition and contrast of different monitors that may bring out faint details. I have several old monitors which will show strong horizonzal smears when certain colours are near each other, even colours with almost indistinguishable hues.

You should try adjusting your contrast and colour settings.
