GIMP for windows

Is it even worth bothering with?

I've read a little about GIMP, but don't have Linux (yet). I'm a little leary about using ported software. Just wondering if anyone has experience with the Win version since it looks like it'll be a little more intense to get working than your average program.

I have loaded it and messed around with it a little bit. I didn't find any bugs or problems with the little amount of time I used it. I do know people that use the win version all the time and love it.
