Bending text

Bending text around an image

Hello!

Could someone, please, explain me how to bend a text (a couple of words) around an image (although it's unsignificant that it's around an image ;)).

I can use Adobe Photoshop or Corel Draw. I hope at lease one of these programs can do the bending (to almost 36O degrees).

Thanks!

Photoshop 6 and up can do it... but the shape of the letters warps as the words bend. Don't know if PS 7 improved that feature.

Don't know about Corel Draw.

Don't know if you have access to Fireworks but there is a very nice feature where you can attach text to paths.

>> Draw the path

>> Write the text

>> shift select both the text and the path

>> from the text menu select attach to path

>> Voila :)

This does not degrade as much as PS but is not good for print.

Corel Draw also has this feature.

Draw the path.
Write the text.
Select the text and the path.
Under the Text menu select Fit Text To Path.

Macromedia Freehand has an excellent text-to-path feature last I checked, so I'm not surprised Fireworks does a good job at it too... but it sounds like Corel Draw will fit the bill better than Photoshop in this case (anyone know otherwise with PS7?)

Its still in Freehand MX. I prefer to do it in freehand instead of Photoshop(fireworks and other raster programs) and bring it over.

Illustrator has some sort of a type-path option, I believe.
