How to make changing banners/buttons?

Please advise me how to do it!

I want to make buttons and banners that change picture or text every 5 seconds or so!....im fairly new to the graphics game!

Could you please advise me of any programs or websites which are the best/cheapest?

Any advise would be greatly appriciated :)

You want to make an animated gif. What operating system do you have? Do you have any graphics software? You can use gimp [gimp.org] if you use windows or linux. Here is their info from the manual:

I use a shareware Macintosh program called GifBuilder... I'm sure there are similar programs available for PC as well.

if you have lots of images or text that you want to cycle through, putting them all into a gif might result in overly large file. depending on your skills it could be worth using flash to load the content in when its needed instead of trying to load it all at once.

this is easier said than done though...:)

there are also some excellent Javascript codes that will cycle through a selection of named images. No good for rollovers but will reduce code bloat compared to an animated gif
