How would I make this graphic?

having trouble with the triangles...

How would I reproduce this graphic?

(that is not my site, so I figured the URL is OK; just using it to show the image)

I need it in a higher res., so I have to reproduce it. The rectangles are easy, obviously. I can do the triangles, but it is going to be a lot of trial and error with regard to lining them up exactly. Also, the way the two sides intersect needs a little explaining as well.

If someone could explain how to create that image using Fireworks or Photoshop using an easier method than the one I am attempting to use, I'd appreciate it.

Create one rectangle at the angle you want. Copy it and flip it horizontally. That will give you the exact angle on the other side. Colour the second rectange. Merge the two layers together. Copy the newly created shape three time.

Or am I missing the point?

Write A three times using a san serif font then make the color changes you need?

Similar to gingerbreadman's suggestion, make a white rectangle at the angle you want, and copy it 3 times on a separate layer for each. Do the same with the other leg of the triangle, again on different layers. Align them up and use Layer => Arrange to bring the white leg to the front of each pair. Then create two horizontal layers of the background colour and position them to effectively 'chop' off the top and bottom of the rectangles to give the triangles flat tops and bottoms. Merge down when happy.

(Probably a long-winded way about doing it, but that's my style ;) (or lack of it)

The best way to recreate this graphic would be using shapes. That way you will be able to keep the image quality should you need to resize the picture.

Always recreate logos in vectors... it is easy to turn it into bitmap.
