amy,

most graphics packages, will allow you to shrink the image size. I personally know MM Fireworks like the back of my hand - others i don't - what graphics platforms have you got?

May help others in helping you

photoshop, will do the trick, i don't know the visual environment of it, but if its similar to Fireworks, then you open up the image in the program right click on the surrunding edges and goto modify and the option fo image size comes up, where you can change the pixel h*w.

I would suggest opening up photoshop and using the help index, its probably quite simple, unfortuantely i have it on none of my PC's - so i can't give you an A-B-C on how to do it.

I like the free GIFbot at NetMechanic for shrinking images.

Amy,

as with all things - its a learning curve, but certainly on a graphics level on a MAC, photoshop is pretty much as good as you get as a general graphics program. Alot of people use photoshop - so i would suggest getting into it a little for its graphical capabilites. If you get to the point of mastering it and want to get into motion based animations - then illustrator, which is also made by Adobe, is a worthwhile move.

happy site building - hope to see you around the forums.
