I have seen on some sites: an object that seems as if it is on glass.
Anyone know how it is done; what tools/filters in photoshop are used?

Do you mean etched into a glass objct or just making the subject look like glass?

I mean:

The object seems to be resting a glass surface, such as:

However, I feel that there is something missing: a filter of some sort? no?
