I did an analysis of my site and it is loading too slowly.
I got the jpg cruncher and proceeded to crunch all the pictures on the site, reloaded all the NEW files to the site and published. I did another post-crunch analysis and it really shows no difference in file sizes and speed, in fact the one file that I deleted is still showing up in the analysis.
what am i doing wrong? what part did I not understand?
Have you cleared the images out of your browsers cache? It sounds like your browser is using your cached images.
I have things like that happen all the time - and it's usually something basic. If you KNOW that jpegcruncher created smaller images for you, then...
1. Did you name them correctly?
2. If you changed the filename, did you also change the src= attribute in the <img> tags?
3. If you changed the image tag attributes, did you also upload the new version of the HTML?
4. Did you actually upload the crunched images, or did you somehow grab the originals?
5. How did you do the analysis?
ok...went back and tested some of the links on the page to see if I was calling the right images...I was.
I even "misnamed" one (ON PURPOSE)and it turned into a box with a red X...cleared the cache again and redid the test WITH THE RED X box....
same bloody results!
what gives?

is there a cache problem somewhere?
or am I still so new I am not clearing mine correctly?
InternetExplorer, tools, internet options, delete files,etc
even the webmasterworld site size tool shows the largest image to be 9660.......that would be the LOGO on my page but I have crunched it and uploaded the new one. deleted the old one. fixed the html parts and VOILA~ still showing largest file is 9660.
as you can tell I feel like a kindergartner in a college crowd here....
I have a Yahoo store and I have a firewall on my computer.
I have crunched, cleared cache, uploaded files..and deleted old ones.
I want to really dig in to the pages and make them better...but the toys dont seem to work! :(

yes....that is one of the things I did...I had renamed alot of the "new" files and uploaded them.
the LOGO gif I played with is now crunched and called pagelogo.jpg and it shows up as the correct logo.
when i run the sitesolutions test it still shows it as 9660!
I went into the html part and put a couple extra characters into the pagelogo.jpg to make it pagelogo33d.jpg and it showed a broken link (red x in a box)
ran the test....still 9660
I also had a link to a certain product that I deleted today completely from the site and IT is still showing up on the test.

dang this is tough!
yes..the valentine flowers are history....now a plant in yellow boots takes its place......but the bemyvalentine is still showing up in the sitesolutions test.
I am checking with my fellow yahoo owners to see if they know about Yahoo caching.....and how long...
this is gonna be a long process if I make a tiny tweak and need to wait days until I see if the tweak worked or not.
cant make too many tweaks cuz I wont remember which tweak did what.....
sheesh!
