Adobe is warning its Creative Cloud users that old apps may end up with copyright infringement.
It stems from a time when Dolby granted Adobe on a per-disk licence, but when Adobe moved to the cloud it became difficult to know how many users were given the licence.

Adobe told Gizmodo
“Adobe recently discontinued certain older versions of Creative Cloud applications. Customers using those versions have been notified that they are no longer licensed to use them and were provided guidance on how to upgrade to the latest authorized versions. Unfortunately, customers who continue to use or deploy older, unauthorized versions of Creative Cloud may face potential claims of infringement by third parties. We cannot comment on claims of third-party infringement, as it concerns ongoing litigation.”

Ah yes ... This is what happens when you can never own the software you pay for -- SaaS is one of the biggest rip-offs on the planet -- Those of us that actually "own" what we use will never have this problem.

Ha ha!

My photoshop requirements are so mundane that I am still using PS 5.0. It continues to do the job. :)
