Adobe’s spectacular FAIL over the last 48 hours confirmed, rather than revealed, cloud computing to be so unreliable as to be positively dangerous. Cloud computing is #*$!e. It takes over everything you’ve got, then farts in your face and runs away giggling.

For those readers blissfully ignorant of what us media production types had to put up with between Wednesday evening and the early hours of Friday morning, Adobe’s login services were down during this brief period. Across multiple continents where Adobe software is used, customers were being beaten back by errors telling them their "Adobe ID" login credentials were incorrect.

How many of you web graphic designers are using the cloud-based Adobe? I admit I have it... but I also maintain a system in house with PS5 (yeah, old, but serviceable!). Also have GIMP, too, as a last resort...

Are you "backed up" if using the "cloud" for your graphics work? Inquiring minds want to know.

heh .. Adobe and their Cloud ....

Every time I login to the site, I get a reminder that I can get CLOUD for free - Sure, I know a hook when I see one.

Hey Adobe - We gotcha there .. Free today usually means paying dearly down the road --

This whole "lease-your-graphics-software" via the cloud is a joke.
