Photoshop Tutorials

Anyone know where I can get Photoshop or fireworks tutorials for creating:

CD Case (not label)
VHS Tape
Book
Box

Any help would be great. I'm trying to get these images on my website, but having a difficult time putting it all together. Thanks a lot.

I am not sure what you mean? Are you looking for sizes or the whole Quark Express shabang?

Cd and VHS will have a custom size, but books and boxes are all custom. Will they be dye cut designs?

The only place I ever go for info about packaging design is the company who's doing the printing. Their specs are the only important issue...

As for getting packaging images on your website, I'm not sure quite what you mean...?

I think this is the best advice. The printer will have all needed sizes and formats. As far as the design the sky is the limit as long as the colors are printable (CMYK, Pantone...).

no, i'm looking for templates like this is how you make an eBook cover... this is the way to make an image that looks like a CD... these are the steps to create a book image... etc.

Does that make more sense?

I don't think there are requirements for "this is how a cd cover looks like" ...it's a design use your imagination. All you need to do is pick a size to work with. This is usually given to you by the person hiring you to do the book cover, CD case whatever. Once you know what size you're working with... GO NUTS!

Ah.. so you're not actually designing any printed materials, you just want to create web graphics that look like those objects?

Hmm... I don't know of any step-by step tutorials for creating specific objects in Photoshop. Most PS tutorials tend to cover things like how to apply certain effects to or correct flaws in existing images.

Have you considered purchasing a large clip-art collection? Then you could find generic images of the objects you need, and edit the images to suit your specific designs.

that's pretty much what I'm talking about. There are tutorials all over the web, but I've been stumped on finding these. Here's an example site of some really good step by step tutorials.

Hmm... Don't know of too many sites like that... I tend to be more of a "play around until it looks right" kinda person.
