how to resize a document in illustrator, especially after using crop tool

if i save a document as jpg , i can view the size of the graphic. Is there any alternative for illustrator cs3

do you mean by ajusting automatically the size of it? or the canvas itself?

Resizing in illustrator is simple, you can go to the document setup, but for me, I used illustrator because it is in vector format no matter how big you will resize it it will never change its quality, that is why, when i do a do a designing work, I used both illustrator and photoshop for resizing the vector.
