I run an educational website and plan to have some broadcast sessions with some professors. The webcam will be connected to a PC which will have 512 kb or 1 Mb upstream connection. The (web)server should connect to the PC and cache the content and serve it to the internet.
This way the server takes all the load from the internet and the PC only gets 1 connection to serve (minimal load and bandwidth usage).
So what do you suggest ?
Thank in advance.
The Media encoder allowed you to save the stream, while the server was geared to handle the the multiple client requirements and buffering without slowing down the machine capturing too much.
I haven't needed to deal with anything on that scale since.
