DVD conversion for Mac

How can I convert a short DVD to web friendly format

If anyone knows of a free or relatively inexpensive way to convert short DVD clips to mpeg or flash formats I would like to know. I use a Mac so that may pose a problem. Also I have the full DVD so I suppose I will need a way to edit a clip. Any suggestions?

Are these commercial DVD's like the ones you watch on TV?

HandBrake is great. Rip them into most formats (not Flash), a single chapter or as a whole. Open in Quicktime, shift-select the bit you want, copy/new/paste/save. You probably need Quicktime Pro for the last bit though. Maybe iMovie is a better option.
