Transparent Nav Bar gifs

Having trouble with the sharpness

I am trying to create transparent images of my links to different pages on my site. The trouble I have is when I save for web (Photoshop 5.5) and then go an put the image in my page, the text edges are really fuzzy and the words look horrible.

How do I fix this? I am trying to use Arial text at about 14pt.

Any help would be appreciated.

make sure you're setting the Matte colour to the same background colour the graphic is on.
