When I open up an ico file the icon appears to be really small but when I view the ico file in windows explorer (tile view) they appear to be much bigger.

Does anyone know how to batch export the ico files to gif or jpg where the size of the image is the same size of the tile view in windows explorer.

TIA. -- Randy

I did not understand your question completely but IrfanView does batch job of converting between different graphic files i.e. from icon to gif/jpg.

Milan, I took a screenshot of what I'm talking about. <snip>

You can see the the images are a nice size that is easy to see. However, when I export them using a batch program they appear so small you can barely see them and enlarging them distorts the picture.

Icons are low DPI graphic files and many times uses only web colors. They distort when enlarged due to the same reason and if at all you want to convert them to large jpg files then try Photoshop, if you do not get the desired results then there are hardly any options left.

ICO files can contain many images at different color depths and sizes.
You should be able to do a batch export of a group of icons at a certain size using a tool like Axialis icon workshop (or many other similar tools).
This will only work if the icon files contain images in the size and format you are looking for. If the images don't have the right size, then the Windows shell scales a smaller image.
