Hi folks

We work on our client's video projects and would like to know ways other than ftp [if possible] to transfer our videos in order to send them back and forth from one location to another.

I am in another state from where the videos originate.

The videos are about 1hr in length more or less maybe more at times.

Any help appreciated

Thanks folks!
Dave

I transfer files a lot and here is a list of ways I have done it from best to worst:

1.VPN
There is only one step. Transfer from your computer to their computer. Then call them when it is done. If you have a slow connection it can still take a long time.

2.FTP
The limitation is with their server and your bandwidth, if slow it can take forever or drop a connection. Then the other party has to download the file which takes more time.

3.Burn on CD/DVD and mail
It takes a few days and can get lost in the mail, but has never happened to me

4.Email
Will bounce if the files are too big

5.Dedicated T1 tunnel
So nice but really expensive, especially if used only once a week

6.Move to their office
You may not want to move, but they might have free sodas

Ok thanks a lot for the tips

Any suggestions on how to get setup with VPN or T1?

Would rather buy from reliable sources. I don't know of any.

However I see VPN setup for XP so if that is sufficient I can take it from there.

thanks much
