PS 7 - Replacing a specific color

I have a shape that is colored green (#99CC66). The shape isn't *exactly* a square and it has some anti-aliasing on a side. I want to change the green to a yellow, but I have a *specific* color of yellow I want to use.

I tried the paintbucket tool and while that does change the shape to yellow, I loose all of the anti-aliasing and the shape now looks jagged.

I have also tried the "replace color" feature but all that gives me are slider bars to use, and it does not allow me to change to my specific color of yellow. All I can do is slide these annoying bars around until I make my best guess at the yellow color. Very frustrating.

I have 1 color. I want to change it to a specific other color. Why is this so difficult?

Do you have antialiasing set on the paint bucket?
Or, use the magic wand, turn antialiasing on and play with tolerance.

It is also possible that the original shape was drawn/filled using some form of feather on the selection.

Your best bet is to redraw the shape and recreate similar conditions.

I'm pretty sure in PS7 there is an Adjustment Layer for a "fill layer" that will overlay a specific color (including the aliasing) if your object is all on one layer and is discrete. Not sure if that is your situation or not.

I ended up remaking all 8 of the graphics that I wanted to switch the colors out on. It turned out for the best anyway, since I found a better shape for them while I was remaking the graphics ;)
