Website color emotions

Which colors evoke [which] emotions?

I'm in the planning stages of a new site and I've been looking for a definitive or authorative book or resource that describes the emotional impact of color and different color combinations.

I don't mean color theory per se, but something along the lines of:

"This color may suggest this emotion, but together with this color may suggest an entirely different emotion, such as this."

I hope I am explaining this clearly. If anyone has any tools or resources that they have used in the past, please let me know, I would definitely appreciate it.

There used many years ago to be a ressource used by many of us in the Ad agencies called the color research institute ..it's name may have changed ..but
searching on google with either.

Will bring up on page one of either search many sources of either educational , or commercial information ..on this subject ..particularly at Rochester ..

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I'm not sure if those are exactly what I was looking for though. But I appreciate the posts.

For now, I bought a copy of "The Pantone Guide to Communicating with Color" by Leatrice Eiseman off of Amazon.

Once it gets here I will post back with my experiences. It had some pretty good reviews on Amazon, so I'm hopeful that it will be what I need.
