Hello everybody, I'm new here.

All well-known DTP software for web allows you to write a piece of text and then save it as an image (gif, jpg etc.), but generally the result is poor (the resulting text-image is not sharp, sometimes with an unwanted background). What is the best software and practices to obtain a good quality image from a text?

There are many to choose from that will let you do what you ask; Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, Freehand, Corel Draw, Paint shop pro, Irfanview, GIMP.... Each have their strengths and weakenesses - what do you want - high end image/text manipulation or simple free and relativley featureless?

Choose one that suits you (and your buget).

Edit: & Welcome To Webamster World :)
