Hi

I've received a file that is type .ai, which I understand to be an Adobe image file. Problem is, I cannot get this into a format that I can use (tiff, jpeg, gif... anything else but ai)

Can anyone recommend the correct software to convert this thing. The client insists that they cannot send anything but this format!

gracias

Adobe Illustrator or a DTP program like Quark. I don't think you can 'convert' .ai files.

Thanks. Trying to install Adobe Illustrator is as frustrating as trying to get an image of the file... not enough disk space. Grrrrrr

Interestingly enough, I got an unsolicited email from a graphic designer this afternoon, and he's in the same city, and he says 'no problem'. What are the odds...

Sorry grandpa,

what I meant was, from Illustrator, you can export and save an .ai file as over 10 different file formats. PSD, tif, jpg, gif etc. Maybe your client doesn't know?
