Does anyone have a one or two favorite fonts that work well at small point sizes? Say, in the 9-11pt range? I know there are pixel fonts that are good at even 8pt but that's not what I am after.

TIA

Verdana is your friend. Tweek line hieght and letter spacing a little and I don't think you'll find a better font at .7em that doesn't need sIFR to work cross platform.

If you are using text in images then there are many fonts that render well at those pt sizes. As a rule of thumb I don't tend to use serifs. Personally I like Franklin, Futura and Helvetica Neue.

verdana is likely one of the best for sure. had access to a report done by a corporation we all know a couple years back that showed verdana the optimum font to use for numerous reasons (readability, etc).

Thanks for the replies... Yes, I agree Verdana is optimum for HTML. I should have clarified....looking for a font for putting text on graphics in Fireworks/Photoshop.
