Any help
There are always solutions to giving your client 'their way' while maintaining a professional look.
But in the end, if they still want it to look like a 6th grader put it together, that choice is ultimately theirs, and then you have a decision to make:
1) Take 4 Advil, Give them what they want and take their money
2) Walk away and explain that your work is of a higher caliber ... That this project isn't worthy of your portfolio, thus isn't worth your time.
I do feel for you ... I really do. Check out on of my posts about a similar problem, and maybe you'll get a few ideas or some inspiration :0)

Do you have Photoshop? In there, under "Layer" there is a "Layer mask" option; Select "Reveal All" Then you can play with the transparancy of the layer mask, using gradients, the eraser tool, etc. By placing other photos over or under you can meld multiple photos together into one fluid background. It takes some practice to get it looking good, so start playing.
I am still battling it believe it or not! I have until Labor Day to finish the site which (because of the difficulties with these people) has taken a 'back burner' compared to some other better paying (and more tolerable) jobs. I have a MySQL database and a input front-end to create for their inventory/current stock page and I'll be done with it. Whether I want to SHOW it to any of you is another thing! ;0)
