Awesome Weather.com ad

[weather.com ] has a great advertisement today for "Band of Brothers". It is similar to the earlier Yahoo ad where stuff flies all over the screen. I really like this one. If it does not get your attention, nothing will.

Somehow I dont think that these things could EVER be tuned out, even like animated banner ads eventually were. Maybe if you scrolled down and had the sound off, but otherwise - nah.

I turned it off as soon as I figured out what the sound was, and noticed it was getting louder. I hate websites making unexpected noises at me...

But the little planes were cute. :) Does anyone want to 'ruin the ending' and tell me what happens after the little planes fly around?

Yeah I was thinking about it. I said it was awesome, but that is only cause I am a marketing guy and these type of intrusive ads are not all over the place yet. As soon as they are, they will be very annoying.

Mivox - they drop guys out of planes, the ad expands, a target moves around, and it ends with the banner returning to regular size. And no, I am not usually "that guy" who spoils movie endings.

Thanks. I think all Macs come with speakers, so I haven't got much choice unless I turn my system sound level completely off.

I don't know if this will help, but I've seen it on one system where it didn't work, and what you got instead of the planes were little white squares that moved across the page...
