More and more of my customers want me to provide them with printed promotional clothing.

I am not overly keen to do this. Mainly because they send me BITMAP images that I have to clean up manually.

Can anyone recommend a raster to vecor software that works.

Thanks for your help.

Output is highly dependant on the quality of the original. Adobe Streamline is probably the most popular tracing software, CorelTrace is another.

The best bitmap to vector program I've ever used was (maybe still) developed by Jetsoft called Art-Scan. It does the trace straight from the scanner to an EPS vector file with uncanny accuracy. I have not done much with tracing in the last few years so I don't know if it's still available. It also works on existing scans to vector conversions. The interface is a bit clumsy but the output made up for that.

Jon_King, thank you for your reply.

I am not keen on Adobe. They already have most of my money :(

I did however look at Art-Scan; sounds promising. They offer a trial. Guess what I am doing this weekend.....

Thanks again.

Is it for design or for CAD? If for CAD I can only recommend VPhybridCAD. For the occasional logo I have acceptable results with CorelTrace.
