Creating a banner

I have a banner. It's not quite 468x60 (which I think is a standard banner size. I went in Photoshop to try to resize it to that size but when I try to make the Width 468 the Length goes too high. When I uncheck the Constrain Proportions box and set it to 468x60 the image is all blurry. How can I correct this?

You go to the "canvas size" command, resize the canvas to 468x60, and then fill in the gaps around the edges.

2 questions on that: 1) What measure is is the width and length in? When I choose Canvas Size you have several options..inches, pixels, etc.

2) How do you fill the gap as you say once you set the canvas size?

468x60 is in pixels.

Fill the gap by painting in the background color of the banner, or something of the sort.

Have you considered the "get a Photoshop tutorial" suggestion? Really, it would save you loads of time to have a good tutorial walk you through the basics of the program. It's not the kind of software you can teach yourself from scratch in a couple days...
