I am in the process of making a series of maps for a certain city with increasing details (perhaps 3 levels). I know how to do an image map (link to information), but what I would also like to be able to do is have a link in on information page that opens a new window with a map .gif and the location is somehow highlighted so the user can locate it easily.
I don't want to use a client side script or flash.
Is there a way I can do it with layers?
