Anyone interested in a photo contest?

Who gets the best results with Photoshop

I was reading Bubzeebub's post and must say that I am very interested in improving my skills both as a photographer and with Photoshop.

I don't know how we could do this but I imagine we will need help from a mod.

I'd like to supply one shot of a specific size (large file) and have everyone edit it for content to demonstrate artistic abilities or "an eye" for content.

No holds barred but final image size cannot be any larger than 290 pixels wide.

Can a mod help us set this up? I have a specific photo in mind which I had one heck of a time editing and would love to see if anyone else can do better.

We would have to keep a log of what steps were taken in Photoshop to get the final result. Maybe we can all learn something here?

There are many public domain images available from .GOV sites...

Here's a nice place to get an image for the contest:

The copyright / use policy is:

"...Most NOAA photos and slides are in the public domain and CANNOT be copyrighted. Victor is surely right - images are posted every week for the gizmo quiz - no problems there. Is this any different? Wouldn't this image be potentially less damaging becasue the owner (Liane) has agreed to its use?
