Help: I can't edit my text layer in Photoshop

I have several text layers in my Photoshop file, but when I double-click one of them to edit it, it gives me the "Layer Options" window instead of the "Type Tool" window in which you can edit your text.

When I copy the text layers to my other Photoshop file, the same thing happens. Funny thing is that my other text layers are just fine.

Is there some kind of locking function or somethinng that I don't know about?

You know, I just noticed that these problem text layers actually don't have the T symbol next to them in the Layers window. I may have turned them into graphic by accident. How can I convert them back to text?

If you converted the text to curves, there's no going back.

But how could I have turned all these text layers into graphic? All of the text layers in this particular file are not editable now. I would've known if I did it one by one.

I would have thought you had hit something like "merge visable" to do that

My mistake, I thought you said only one of the layers was uneditable. I'd say Cornwall is right, either you hit merge visable or flatten image on accident.

Or, possibly hit layer>rasterize>type.

More than one way of skinning the cat in Photoshop, or indeed rdeucing the number of layers :)

The double click option only works on the "T" in a text layer, the other part brings up the the layer style box. So if there is no "T" you couldn't have done it anyway. What might have happened is that you merged 2 text layers instead of grouping them, this would make the text uneditable.

Use a lot of key commands? perhaps you hit a "rasterize type" key command?
