Gif colour problem

I have a graphic problem on a new website [eventcreators.co.uk...] when the logo graphic loads the colours seem dull and transparent. If I re-size the browser window or click a 'mouse-over' the logo colours appear. Why is this happening? How do I prevent it?

Any advice appreciated.

kapow - looks fine to me. What browser and version are you using to view it?

I use IE5.0
I get this problem quite often. Click on any of the main pages (the site is still a bit rough) the logo (event creators) doesn't look right unless I re-size my browser window or put the mouse over a mouse-over image. Well not on my browser anyway.

Looks fine on my Mac, IE 5.0... I'm at a bit of a loss to explain why you'd be having a problem.

No probs here either - IE6 PC.

Have you considered reversing the image mouseover effect? (a little OT, sorry). I think the non-hover images with a (light) blue filter and hover images with vibrant colour would grab me more.

Looks good on a PC w/NS 4.77 too. The obvious question is have you cleared your browser's cache recently?

Ahh! Yes, I've had some very strange image problems related to cached "old" images.

On first load of a logo it looks fine, on subsequent loads it looks bad - then if I click 'refresh' or 'delete offline content' the logo images re-load correctly. So - is this a problem with my Browser setting? Is what I described the same as clearing the cache?

pps. Him - I put the brighter images as default and the darker as 'mouse-over' so that the page looks more attractive overall (well, in my opinion anyway). Feedback appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken (on Windows/Internet Explorer), you'd need to open your Internet Settings and click the "Advanced" tab... the option to empty your browser cache should be under there.

I can't find it - if that is the problem can anyone say exactly where in IE5 I should make the change?

Tools/Internet Options/Temporary Internet files, should do it.
Check out the "settings" while you are there and I always clear the history folder.

Those are instructions that one carries out manually (as far as I understand) what are the rest of you doing? How come on other browsers the problem doesn't seem to occur? Is it time to upgrade my browser?

That would be the question, wouldn't it? ;) If it is a cache problem, the reason it wouldn't occur on any of our browsers is simply because we've never visited the site before, and therefore our browsers wouldn't have loaded the images into cache before...

If I 'delete all offline content' and 'clear history' folder - the problem returns as soon as I click on another page in the site that has the same logo. I get the feeling that this is not happening to any of you.

Just looked with I.E 5.5 and comm 4.76 on PC, all seems fine, but have experienced something similar. I find if you clear all the cache's, history folder's and cookies, it clears it, though it was my links with netscape after browser refreshes that i was having probs with.

Not sure at all why a logo with no links or functionality would do that.

Will have a play and see if anything abnormal occurs with your icon

Thanks - This only seems to happen to me on my browser with my websites. I can clear everything but the promlem returns after the first load of of a gif on any of my websites. It doesn't happen when I visit anyone elses website!?
