I'm using Macromedia's Studio MX (not 2004) and wondering if it is a better idea to use the industry standard apps. Fireworks seems acceptable but I don't know the full capabilities of Photoshop to compare.

The problem is I've got Photoshop5.5/IIlustrator9 but only for my PC. I develop on my PowerBook using OS X with StudioMX which is much more convenient. There are mixed opinions about VirtualPC so, haven't sprung for it yet.

Anyone have an opinion on this?
TIA

Photoshop and Illustrator have an advantage for print. If you are talking web dev, the Macromedia products are probably a bit better. Both are so close now in capabilities it's hard to make the call. Each companies products are really good and I think you can't go wrong with either. IMHO

Macromedia products are the industry standard apps for WYSIWYG web dev.
