Hi all...I'm new to thie forum and to web design...and have created a website and wanted to know the actual size of the default page. how do you measure the total size of the download for a page on your site? are there any websites that will measure a page for size and download speed? for modem users what is an acceptable size range for a page? btw, it's an ecommerce site using oscommerce.

thanks for any help.

Step1. Just save the webpage you would like to measure!
Step2. View source the saved file as a .HTML file
Step3. Calculate the size of the imgs folder as well as the saved HTML text.

That will be your final <weight> of the full page you were browsing.

Cheers,
Rahul

Thanks Rahul for the reply. I should have stated the problem better. My pages are dynamically created via php and database queries. I could do as you said save the 'view source' weight that code and add up the individual images listed in that file and get a total weight. I guess I was hoping that someone out there might have solved this tidious task with some software that would 'measure' the total weight but providing the url and then having it 'download' it and measure the total weight.

thanks again for the suggestion and response.
