Since I can load a DVD on my computer, I thought I would be able to create a streaming media file from the DVD.
How best should I handle extracting a video clip for streaming over the Internet?
Thanks!

I have already streamed audio, so it would seem I could just pull the video file from my DVD into the encoder. The problem I'm having is that I don't want to stream the entire thing, since it's two hours long. I want to extract clips from it, but I don't believe my encoder will allow me to do that once I pull the entire file in.
Any thoughts on how I could extract clips from the DVD?
Thanks again for all your prompt and helpful information!

streaming a dvd would involve converting it to a windows media - quicktime - realplayer format, and then inserting code to embed this video in your webpage
most homepages for the different formats will explain in detail the code to <embed> their files. just google for "embed real media" or "embed windows media"
ulead makes good software for extracting scenes from video material. you can get a trial download before you decide to spend
