I have a problem!
a client gave me a few small .AVI clips
out of those he would like me to grab a few pic and use them as still pic for its site

I am not a multimedia specialist (More of a HTML,PHP MySQL guy)

is there a way to do that

when I clik on the clip Win Media Player Plays it.
do I need to find and D-load some tool?
(free if possible, I do not plan to do that again!)

thank you

regards

Henry

Why don't you pause the clip at the frame you want, and use "print screen" or with the addition of the ALT key. Then open it in an imaging program (new document and paste), then cut the movie player bits out. Or size the movie player first, use ALT and print screen, and then do the same but leave the player bits in.

Go to adobe.com and download the tryout version of Adobe Premiere.
Load the clip, scroll to the frame you want to extract, and then export the frame as JPG.

If they have disabled the single-frame export in the tryout version (the full clip export is disabled for sure), then the screen capture mentioned in an earlier message still works, but without quality issues.

It's resolution will be 72dpi and it should, in theory, look no different to what the user sees in the actual clip, if you are playing the movie at 100% size. I have never grabbed a frame that looks as good as a photo, and I work with uncompressed .avi.

Beware though - Adobe Premiere is not exactly intuitive! Some knowledge of nonlinear video editing might be helpful. But as an experienced computer user you should be able to figure most things out...
